Rob Black saw "Clerks." There's no doubt about it. And I mean that in the most complimentary way imaginable to both him and Kevin Smith. While Rob doesn't have nearly the knack for dialogue, he does stumble upon a few golden nuggets here that are destined to become household catchphrases around the American Vice office. Leaving the script in the hands of Van Damage was clearly a good idea. If anyone in the industry has a higher-level sense of humor, it's Van. What you need to remember about this movie is that it's not about the sex. If you're watching these scenes for hardcore stroke material, then you're in the wrong place. This is a porn fan's porno. It's scatterbrained, stream of consciousness, crass, filthy and ultimately, entertaining. And although it kills me to do it, I have to give the EC to Mila Shegol, Byron Long and Tony Eveready. It is a racist affront that is so wrong on so many levels.
